One of the oldest family firms in Scotland, the firm was founded in Forres on the 20th March 1829 by Robert Urquhart from Edinkillie. Robert remained the sole proprietor until he was joined by his nephew, also named Robert, in 1864, forming the second ‘R’ in in R&R Urquhart. The firm has been managed by 3 families over 6 generations.
As the business grew we opened an office in Nairn in the 1980’s which merged with the Nairn firm, MacGregor & Co in 2002. We then merged with the Inverness practice of James Stewart and Co in 2005, when the firm changed its name to R&R Urquhart LLP. We also have a satellite office in Beechwood Business Park in Inverness, where we are able to meet with clients.
We have very strong roots in Moray and the Highlands and now employ around 40 people across the regions.
